Answers:

1. This flag belongs to an associated state of a country, but which state and which country?          The Cook Islands in the South Pacific which are an associated state of New Zealand.  If you knew the capital Island was Raratonga, then give yourself a well deserved extra point and have a lie down!

2. What do the circle of stars symbolise? The circle of stars represent the 15 islands in the group.  These stars are value for money as they also symbolise heaven, faith in god and the power guiding the inhabitants.  The British Ensign shows that the islands are connected with New Zealand.

3. The flag as shown breaks flag etiquette.  Do you know why a flag should never be displayed on the ground? It is considered  undignified for a flag to touch the floor, ground or water.  It should always be displayed aloft and flying free and never carried horizontally.  Apologies to the inhabitants of the Cook Islands, no disrespect is intended but weather conditions did not permit the flag to fly aloft and free on this occasion.
